The terms and conditions detailed below apply to all bookings made with Macdonald Resorts, either via our own websites or by telephone. 

Please note that for promotional bookings the relevant additional terms and conditions should be consulted.

When you make a booking, your contract (which shall include these terms and conditions) will be with Macdonald Resorts, which shall mean in these terms and conditions Macdonald Resorts Limited. Registered in Scotland VAT No. 241215802, IVA No. N-0062047F. Registered office: 5th Floor, 1 Exchange Crescent, Conference Square, Edinburgh, EH3 8UL.

Dinner reservations, spa treatments, airport transfers and golf tee off times cannot be guaranteed online. If your booking includes dinner, please contact the resort direct to book your table prior to completion of your online booking. Please note that the price being offered currently cannot be guaranteed should you not complete your booking at this stage.

All rates featured on the Macdonald website or quoted by telephone or otherwise are offered subject to availability and Macdonald Resorts reserves the right to refuse any booking for good reason.

Reservations made with Macdonald Resorts are made on a room only basis unless otherwise stated.

PRICING

We offer a full range of packages and pricing, as detailed below. Our packages and pricing will fluctuate depending on availability and demand at any given time. All prices are subject to change without notice. Prices are subject to availability and are inclusive of VAT at the current prevailing rate. Your price is guaranteed once you have been given a confirmation number. Indicative alternative currency rates used to estimate cost and balance of cost are based on current exchange rates and are subject to fluctuation.

DEPOSIT REQUIREMENTS

When you make your reservation, you will be asked to provide a valid debit/credit card. In some instances, a deposit is required and all other instances full prepayment is required subject to rate terms and conditions.

By Telephone: All bookings made more than 8 weeks in advance are required to pay 25% deposit of the total reservation value and the balance is payable 8 weeks prior to arrival. Should you book within 8 weeks of the start of your holiday the entire cost of the holiday must be paid in advance at the time of making the reservation. All bookings made online must be paid in full and are non-refundable & non-transferrable.

BEST AVAILABLE RATES

In general, our Best Available Rates are available until day of arrival (exceptions may apply to select resorts), and are fully prepaid at time of booking. Best Available Rates are non- refundable and non-transferable. The credit/debit card used to book the Advance Purchase rate must be presented to reception on arrival at the resort. Please note that failure to do so will result in an alternative payment method being required. Cancellations made after you are issued a confirmation number will be charged in full.

PROMOTION & PARTNERSHIP RATES

These rates will require a promotion code. Separate terms and conditions may apply which will take precedence over these standard booking terms and conditions.

For the avoidance of doubt, your price does not include any incidental charges which you may incur during your stay (including, by way of example only, in respect of your use of the resort’s bar facilities, costs of external telephone calls from your apartment and electricity charges incurred during your stay). Such charges will be payable by you on your departure and, in the event that you fail to pay any such incidental charges, it is a condition of your contract with Macdonald Resorts that you irrevocably authorise Macdonald Resorts Group to debit your credit or debit card (see 'Deposits and Pre-payments' below) for the amount of any shortfall.

WHAT THE PRICE INCLUDES

Prices for breaks can include a variation of accommodation types for example studio, one, two or three bedroom properties with colour TV, direct dial telephone and varying private en-suite bathroom/s depending on the accommodation type reserved. Our bed and breakfast and dinner, bed and breakfast inclusive rates incorporate a saving on our standard resort prices.

AVAILABILITY

During major sporting events, social events, conferences, school holiday dates and exhibitions certain rates may not be available. Certain dates may be subject to a minimum length of stay criteria & all rates & promotions are subject to availability.

For operational reasons, it may be required from time to time to close a resort within the Macdonald Resort portfolio and guests may have to be moved to an alternative resort within the region. Where this is the case, such move shall only be to an accommodation type of at least an equivalent standard.

ACCOMMODATION TYPES

Comfort Extra and Comfort Collection properties are available at some resorts for a supplement per night. Generally, these apartments offer more space, better views and a selection of superior amenities. Please ask for details at time of booking.

GUESTS WITH IMPAIRED MOBILITY

Guests with impaired mobility or other requirements should check with their chosen resort in advance to ensure that their requirements can be met. Please call the resort direct for details prior to reserving your accommodation.

PETS

Most of our UK resorts are able to accommodate dogs, at the resorts discretion. Our policy and applicable prices are detailed in our Pet Policy page.

CAR PARKING

Car parking is free at all resorts, but at some resorts may have limited availability. For further information on parking availability kindly contact the resort directly.

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE

Resort accommodation is accessible from 5pm on the day of arrival. Accommodation must be vacated by 10am on the day of departure, unless otherwise sanctioned at the discretion of the resort manager. For certain resorts, these times may differ, please refer to your booking confirmation.

MEAL ARRANGEMENTS

Rates which include breakfast offer a full traditional or continental breakfast with tea or coffee, unless stated otherwise. Rates which include dinner offer a choice from the resort’s table d'hôte menu. Where a resort does not offer a table d'hôte menu, an allowance (which varies from resort to resort) is allocated towards dining from the à la carte menu. There is no refund for meals which are not taken by guests and lunch cannot be taken in place of dinner.

HEALTH, LEISURE AND WELLBEING

Many of our resorts have excellent leisure and spa facilities such as a swimming pool, steam room, sauna and spa pool (the availability and range of facilities varies from resort to resort).

Please check online for the range of facilities at your chosen resort. A charge will be made for the use of certain facilities, such as spa treatments. Your use of such facilities is subject to any terms and conditions applying at the resort at which you have placed your booking.

Under 16's are not permitted to use the gym or any of our thermal suites or spa treatments. They must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times when using the leisure facilities. Under 8's are not permitted to use the spa pools, saunas and steam rooms. In some instance’s adult only and family session times may apply in our swimming pools, please check directly with your chosen resort for more information.

If you have had or are suffering from severe allergies, ill health, a medical condition or are pregnant we advise you to speak to your GP prior to arrival to ensure you can use our leisure and spa facilities, services and treatments. All spa treatments booked are subject to medical status. We reserve the right to refuse treatment/s if we feel it is not in the best interest of the Client.

GROUP BOOKINGS

A booking of eight rooms or more is classified as a group and is subject to our Group Terms & Conditions of business, which differ from our Best Available and Advance Purchase rates. Please contact Resort Reservations for further details on 0344 879 9102 (option 1)

BALANCE OF MONIES OUTSTANDING

On arrival you will be asked to produce a valid credit card for the resort to take pre-authorisation. Prior to your departure from the resort you will be required to settle your bill.

If you are settling your account in cash or with a debit card, you will be asked for a deposit to cover the cost of your accommodation for your stay (any extras which you may incur in the resort will not be chargeable to your apartment account). Macdonald Hotels & Resorts accept MasterCard and Visa.

GIFT VOUCHERS & VOUCHER PRIZES

Gift vouchers and vouchers used as competition prizes, unless otherwise specified on the voucher, are valid for one year from date of issue. If you have a prize voucher and wish to extend the validity date, please contact Central Reservations on 0344 879 9210.

Macdonald Hotels & Resorts gift vouchers should be presented on check-in, when paying for your meal or on arrival at our Spas or Vital Clubs. Customers must advise that they intend to use a voucher prior to booking a break, spa treatment etc.

Macdonald gift vouchers can only be used in Macdonald Hotels & Resorts in the UK and Spain. Gift vouchers can be used to settle accounts in Macdonald Hotels & Resorts, either in full or part payment, but change cannot be given. Vouchers can only be used up to a maximum of £2,000 in any one transaction. Gift vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash, replaced if lost and is non-transferable. Monetary gift vouchers cannot be split to settle accounts in more than one Macdonald Resort, nor can accounts be transferred. No refund of money will be made once voucher has been purchased and no change can be given unless Macdonald Resorts withdraw vouchers without prior notice. Macdonald Resorts cannot accept responsibility for the loss or theft of a Macdonald gift voucher after it has been issued. Macdonald Resorts reserve the right to amend these Terms and Conditions. No photocopies will be accepted. If a resort is no longer part of the Macdonald Resorts once you come to use vouchers it will not be accepted, vouchers can only be used in resorts part of the Macdonald Hotels & Resorts at time of use and not at time of purchase.

CANCELLATION & AMENDMENTS

All cancellations are made in accordance with the cancellation terms of the rate booked.

All online rates are non-refundable and non- transferable and full pre-payment will be forfeited if cancelled or amended. All bookings made by telephone out with 8 weeks of arrival date are required to pay 25% deposit which is non-refundable and non-transferable if cancelled. Balances are due 8 weeks prior to arrival and are non-refundable and non- transferable if cancelled.

Promotion and Partnership rates may only be cancelled in accordance with the specific terms applying to that rate which will be advised at the time of booking.

A cancellation number must be obtained to ensure that minimum charges are levied.

Whilst every effort is made to fulfil any particular requests which you may make in relation to your stay with us, please note that these requests do not form part of our contract and we cannot guarantee that we will be able to meet any particular requests.

In the unlikely event that we are required to change or cancel your reservation, we reserve the right to do so. However, you have the right to:

  • Accept the changed arrangements as notified; or
  • make alternative arrangements with Macdonald Hotels & Resorts; or
  • cancel your reservation and receive a full refund of any monies which you have paid to Macdonald Hotels & Resorts in respect of your reservation (please note that we shall not be liable for any sums which you have paid to any other persons in connection with your reservation).
  • For the avoidance of doubt, we shall have no further liability to you for any changes to or the cancellation of any stay with us.

COMPLAINTS OR COMMENTS

Any complaint or feedback regarding a stay at one of our resorts should be made in the first instance to the resort’s duty manager at the time of your stay so that it can be resolved at that time.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Macdonald Hotels & Resorts shall not be responsible for any loss or damage which you may suffer arising out of events beyond its control or the control of its suppliers (including, without limitation, fire, failure of electrical, gas or other power supplies, strikes, industrial action, terrorist activity, technical problems with transport, illness of entertainers and bad weather), nor for any curtailment, cancellation or change to any accommodation, activity or itinerary or any other consequences which arise as a result of such events.

For the avoidance of doubt, nothing in these terms and conditions shall operate to attempt to exclude or limit Macdonald Hotels & Resorts' liability for the death or personal injury of any person caused by the negligence of Macdonald Hotels & Resorts or its employees, servants or agents or to attempt to exclude or limit Macdonald Hotels & Resorts' liability in any manner which would be unlawful.

These terms and conditions shall be subject to the laws of the jurisdiction in which the resort for which you make your booking is situated.
